Longtime Southern California singer-songwriter Rick Shea got his early musical education in the bars and honky-tonks of San Bernardino, and his songs reflect the folk, country, rock and Mexican influences he grew up with. He's played with a who's who of roots music, from rockabilly pioneer Wanda Jackson to King of California, Dave Alvin. His critically acclaimed ninth album, "Love and Desperation," was released earlier this year on Appaloosa Records.
"A master songwriter ... his muse is an earth-bound one, full of scruffy moments and care worn emotional truths"
- Alan Cackett
"Shea may be southern California's best kept secret."
- Terry Paul Roland
