After singing and playing bass guitar with a variety of bands in Southern California, Elizabeth Hangan has taken the lead and released a single with the help of Kelly Z and Perry Robertson of Kelly’s Lot. Elizabeth had ‘Notorious Woman’ swirling around in her head for 4 years and decided to share the song with the DUO during a rehearsal. Robertson got on board as producer and engineer, and with a couple of L.A. musicians helped create Elizabeth’s first single.
Hangan’s love for music started at a young age. Born and raised in Southern California, her parents were an interracial couple who married in secret in the 50’s and were civil rights activists throughout the 60’s. Her mother, Emily, was a Social worker and taught Piano, her father, Clabe Hangan, was also a singer and guitar player and to this day is still her greatest musical influence.
Established in the Los Angeles Blues community, she has sung with Bernie Pearl, is one of Marguaret Love’s Lovettes, did a tour with Bobby Warren, and has worked with blues icons Mickey Champion and Deacon Jones. She was selected to perform for the Women in Blues 2021 showcase and was presented with a Living Legend award in 2018 for her contribution to blues music as both a singer and bass player and music educator .
Now with the release of Notorious Woman she is on the move again.
